We're back !

I've been slack in the communication department lately, due to the fact that the laptop is still in the caravan and since I have a nice new house, why should I go back in there ?!?!?!? I still have stuff to move (non-essential things) and am taking it slowly as I have to organise the places for those things to go in the house (ie. I don't want to make a mess in the new place just yet). I have a project on the go at the moment, it's what you would call a Men's dresser that I picked up at a clearing sale and Tori has got her eye on it for her room. It has a cupboard at the side for hanging trousers (I presume) and 5 drawers at the side so that will be perfect for her room. So I must get onto that so her toys and stuff can come up to the house. I had to buy a new washing machine the other day - stupid me neglected to tell the cabinet maker to allow for a twin tub. I sort of thought that they werent going to put any cupboards in the laundry but as it was, they did as I asked (they just allowed for an automatic machine space).

Anyway, what I started off saying, is that we are now on Satellite Internet (it's the only available choice we have living 25kms out of town). So now I can upload pictures to my ringo site, (if I haven't contacted you regarding this, please email or ring me as you have to join up as my friend to see all the albums), update the blog without balancing the laptop and catching my feet up in the telephone cord, read and respond to emails quicker than ever and The Man and the Girl can surf without bitching about how long it takes. I also can download large emails QUICKER !

We had our work Xmas show early this year and went to a place called Donington Cottage in the Lincoln National Park - was a great night. We stayed overnight, that works for us as if we did the going to the pub thing, one of us would have had to stay sober and that would have been BORING !
This is the view from the cottage, not bad eh !

Soon I am to have 3 weeks off, mid December to the first week of January so I guess with The Man home we will accomplish a few things (or kill each other). We still have to do something about the immediate outside (ie pavers or concrete) to stop the dirt coming in. Thankfully, all entrances are tiled so a quick sweep and Bob's your auntie.

Time for me to sign off and think of something more interesting to write next time.

Ciao

The Taj Mahal of Charlton Gully

Well.......
At approximately 3.30pm yesterday (26 October 2005), we were handed the keys to our new abode. No, I do not have any photos of the event but, the local paper came and took several so we may even make it into the local paper. I will ask them if I can have some copies of them and send them on to all you guys for a larf !!!!!

We cooked tea (we meaning ME), and ate off the outdoor setting that was given to us by kind friends, in lieu of our furniture arriving next Saturday after the carpets are done. I promise to put photos on the blog when there is furniture and looks like it's lived in rather than empty rooms.

So now I am busy moving things into the new place (not much to move but the caravan seems to be bursting at the seams at the collection of paperwork, Tori's toys and books, washing that needs putting away (but have been too slack to do so) and just general stuff. I have had a few surprises of gifts that were sent soon after the fire and unpacked them last night and put into their new places.

I could go on and on and on, but all I really wanted to say was thanks to you all and that we are now the proud owners of a new home.

Keep on smiling, we certainly are !

26th October

The vanity in the ensuite Posted by Picasa

Well folks, the end of waiting is only 13 days away. We are having the handover on Wednesday the 26th October. The carpet layer and the floor finisher will be in on the 27th-28th and we went shopping for some furniture last week and that should be three weeks away so that should turn out perfect. Woo Hoo ! I wasn't excited up until we went furniture shopping, that made it real. It will be nice to sit at a table and eat dinner (it would be nice to cook dinner in a spacious kitchen and put the dishes in the DISHWASHER !), have a shower for longer than the mini hot water tank in the van and The Girl is especially excited about having a spa bath.

Will have a lot of work to do around the outside so the inside stays clean (ie. paving, garden, lawn, etc), but that will be fun and I can plant so many more things here than I could up North. We have been doing quite a bit of bird watching lately and have a birds of Australia book to look up what we do see here. Then we can find out their likes for trees, etc and make it a haven for them (and I will have to get the cat a louder bell so they can live long enough to enjoy it here !).

Am going to try and put together a powerpoint presentation so I will be posting a few of them about for all to see. Otherwise, you are going to have to come to us and experience it for yourselves. I am hoping to have my hours reduced at work to school hours then we will have more of a life and have more energy to get on with the tasks ahead.

Love you all

Wild and Wooly !

Man it is windy here at the moment !!!!!
There are gusts of 61 knots (which equates to about 110 kph).
The Man is coming home on the plane tonight and I'm hoping he can get here. We had a bit of a storm last night and I had to comfort The Girl. She thought it was cool while it was still light outside but when I asked her where the torch was (incase of a blackout), she started to freak. As it was, the power went out about 5 minutes after I went to bed so it was no biggie anyway. I just set the mobile phone alarm and off to sleep I went. About 3am this morning, the flashing of the clock woke me and I reset it.
We have lost 3 trees here at work (and another blunder by me - I didn't put the park brake on my car and it rolled into another little tree - no damage, well not to the car, just rolled the little gum). I was watching the seagulls from my office window earlier on and was having quite a chuckle as they were going up and down and then reversing due to the strong winds.
I was getting a little worried so I rang the painter to see how it was going out on the farm. He asked if I had a annexe because the frame was on the ground. That was the old annexe and was positioned ontop of the sea container so it's come off. The vans are still in one piece. Might be a bit rocky in the van tonight !!!
