Man it is windy here at the moment !!!!!
There are gusts of 61 knots (which equates to about 110 kph).
The Man is coming home on the plane tonight and I'm hoping he can get here. We had a bit of a storm last night and I had to comfort The Girl. She thought it was cool while it was still light outside but when I asked her where the torch was (incase of a blackout), she started to freak. As it was, the power went out about 5 minutes after I went to bed so it was no biggie anyway. I just set the mobile phone alarm and off to sleep I went. About 3am this morning, the flashing of the clock woke me and I reset it.
We have lost 3 trees here at work (and another blunder by me - I didn't put the park brake on my car and it rolled into another little tree - no damage, well not to the car, just rolled the little gum). I was watching the seagulls from my office window earlier on and was having quite a chuckle as they were going up and down and then reversing due to the strong winds.
I was getting a little worried so I rang the painter to see how it was going out on the farm. He asked if I had a annexe because the frame was on the ground. That was the old annexe and was positioned ontop of the sea container so it's come off. The vans are still in one piece. Might be a bit rocky in the van tonight !!!
A tale of a family living in the best place on earth after a complete change of scenery and lifestyle.

It's getting closer .......
The Grand Entrance

The front doors are almost finished (ie. they have to stain and finish them) and most of the internal doors are hung, just needing the piece of wood that keeps the door from swinging right through and the knobs ! The bathrooms are well underway to being finished and man I am soooooo impressed with the choice of tiles and the finish. The 2nd fix carpenter reckons they look like a Roman bath and The Man thinks they look woggy, I think they look special. Have taken a couple of days off to rest and recharge and also to see some action on the house rather than getting home and cruising through when it is just starting to get dark, besides, I generally have to sort out The Girl, cook tea, etc.

Kitchen
This is an artist's impression of our new kitchen. Flash hey !! Too flash for us scrubbers. The house is progressing slowly at this stage, we had to do a rush job on the flooring as the builders wanted to know where to put the skirting boards (backward to me as I thought that they would lay them after the tiles etc.). As it turns out, the second fix carpenter is going to cut them and lay them after - good man.
I passed the carpenter today as I had a late start and was pleased to hear that he will be there until the end of the week finishing what he can. Why did I have a late start today, well I'm glad you asked. I went to a show last night called the Bar at Buena Vista. In a nutshell, it was euphoric ! For those of you that know me well enough, I was moved to tears at the opportunity to see a band that had members in their 80's. It was superb ! It was great to get out and see something that I really loved rather than staying at home in the van. I managed to get a great babysitter for The Girl, which is hard when you really know no one, and the evening turned out perfect. I came in late more for the Girl's sake as it was a late night for her, so I took her straight to school. Enough of the jibber. Gonna take some more photos tonight and may put them on the blog.
As the gentleman said at the close of the show last night (in his Cuban/Spanish accent), "live life to the full and enjoy every minute of it"
